AnyDesk offers the easiest remote access solution. Don’t believe us? Try it yourself! Installing AnyDesk is simple and only takes a minute. Here’s a little guide on how to get started with AnyDesk and – if you’re intrigued – how to expand on the features we offer.

We’ve all been there:

A co-worker asks to see something on our screen.

A friend has a problem with his device.

What if we want to help, but we’re on the other side of the world?

That – and many other use cases – is what remote access is for.

Even in a professional environment, remote access software can be incredibly helpful, such as cases where you need to roll-out a program to all the devices in your company.

AnyDesk offers the easiest remote access solution. Don’t believe us? Try it yourself! Installing AnyDesk is simple and only takes a minute. Here’s a little guide on how to get started with AnyDesk and – if you’re intrigued – how to expand on the features we offer.

First things first: AnyDesk is free for private use. So if your grandmother needs help setting up her PC, you can easily help her from your own home and you don’t have to pay a cent. Not only that, but you don’t have to sign up for anything and you barely need any space on your PC. Simply download the 2mb file from https://anydesk.com/ and get going!

Whoever you’d like to connect to needs to download AnyDesk as well. Just tell them how easy it is and they’ll be ready in the blink of an eye.
And that’s it! You’re now ready to start your first session.

To get started, open AnyDesk: The number you see on the left is your personal ID. People can use that number to access your device, and you need this number from the person you want to connect to. You can also set up an Alias. Type the ID of the device or its Alias you want to connect to into the search bar on the right and wait for your remote device to accept the connection.

Pro-Tip:

What if you’re at the office, but you want to listen to a playlist on your home PC where no one is there to accept the connection? That’s easy! Simply set up a password for unattended access.

How else can you choose who to connect to? Take a look at your home window:

  • DISCOVERED: This where the devices that have AnyDesk installed and are part of your network are listed.
  • FAVORITES: Your most-accessed devices are listed here.
  • RECENT SESSIONS: The devices you recently connected to are listed here.

Pro Tip:

With a professional license, you get your own AnyDesk Address Book where it’s even easier to organize your contacts! Click here to get AnyDesk Professional.

Have you connected to the remote device? This is what the remote side sees :

  • Permissions
    • You may take control of the remote device – but the remote side can still decide the level of access they want to give you by simply clicking the respective permissions

And here’s what you see. Some basic tools you can also use include:

  • Chat: A simple way to communicate with the remote side. Just text them using the chat feature.
  • Whiteboard: Draw sketches or arrows in multiple colors to instruct the remote side!
  • Switch sides: The remote side wants to have access to your device? You don’t need to end the session and start a new one – just switch sides in the active session. It’s much faster!
  • Block User Input: Blocks the user on the remote side from controlling their device. That’s so you don’t get in each other’s way and the user on the remote side can lean back while you help them. Don’t worry if you’re on the remote side. If don’t want to give up all of your control you can simply press ctrl+alt+del to gain control over your device again!
  • There are many other options and settings available in an active session. Browse through our articles to find more.

To end the connection, either click disconnect on the remote side, close the tab, or close AnyDesk.

Easy, isn’t it? Naturally, these first steps aren’t even half of what AnyDesk is actually capable of – especially when it comes to commercial use.
